Bold and Beautiful: A Vibrant Siesta Key Home That Dares to Stand Out

A Mediterranean Revival with Maximalist Interiors

Tucked away on the waterfront of Siesta Key, Terri Milikin’s vibrant Mediterranean-style home redefines the art of bold design. Shared with her husband, the home is a testament to her fearless embrace of color, pattern, and texture. Rather than opting for the minimalism often seen in coastal properties, this residence is a maximalist masterpiece, where every detail tells a story.

Bold and Beautiful: A Vibrant Siesta Key Home That Dares to Stand Out

Designed in collaboration with local interior designer Quentin MacDonald, the home’s exterior exudes timeless charm with its lush ivy-covered walls, arches, and romantic balconies. Inside, however, the drama unfolds. Inspired by Milikin’s travels and love for antiques, the interiors are a kaleidoscope of layered patterns, custom finishes, and vintage warmth.

The living spaces are unapologetically bold, with four patterns coexisting harmoniously in a single room. A green lacquered study gleams like glass, while tiger stripes, leopard prints, and bespoke wallpapers elevate the home’s playful elegance. Every corner reflects Milikin’s adventurous spirit, from the custom-designed wallpaper in the dining room to the vintage wood pieces anchoring the eclectic design.

Though luxurious, the home is deeply personal, with touches like artisan-crafted pillows, furniture sourced from England, and walls finished in painstakingly applied lacquer. As Milikin puts it, “This isn’t just a house; it’s a reflection of my story.”

While bold design choices may intimidate some, Milikin and MacDonald’s collaboration proves that risk-taking can result in a home that feels both timeless and alive. This Siesta Key retreat isn’t just a house; it’s a celebration of individuality and the joy of creating spaces that speak volumes.
