Le Chacuel: A Modern Desert Sanctuary in Joshua Tree

A minimalist haven amidst the California Mojave Desert.

Morris's vision for Le Chacuel sought inspiration solely from the desert and old-world desert living. The intentional design, sitting lower to the earth, crafted a pool with elevated walls, merging seamlessly with the landscape while shielding from natural elements.

Handcrafted custom furniture, meticulously designed by Cast & Crew, adorns this space, allowing light to dance through and infuse an expansive, modern essence into the home. Each piece embraces an ethereal design, a harmonious interplay of light and space.

Surrounded by untouched nature, Le Chacuel beckons as a retreat for solace and inspiration, inviting guests to witness awe-inspiring sunsets and embrace the tranquility of the desert.

This sanctuary embodies a commitment to sustainability, honoring the land it stands upon.

Driven by a deep connection to the environment, Morris ensures Le Chacuel mirrors a harmonious synergy with nature. Recycled materials, lime plaster, and repurposed marble underscore their dedication to sustainability.

Beyond aesthetics, the home reflects meticulous reconstruction efforts, featuring open living spaces with exposed trusses and strategically positioned windows for abundant natural light. The minimalist furnishing selection complements the space, striking a balance between modernity and natural warmth.

Le Chacuel stands as a testament to vision and transformation, a harmonious marriage of modern design and natural serenity in the heart of the California Mojave Desert—a sanctuary crafted by Mila Morris.
